Hemp Seeds & Human Nutrition

Prevention is Better Than Treatment!

Hemp seeds are one of the most beneficial items that one could add to one's diet. And while medicinal cannabis- made from concentrated cannabis flowers- has received significant attention in the past years for its ability to treat many diseases- including cancer- another approach is to live a healthy lifestyle that prevents disease from arising in the first place. One of the most direct ways we can do so is through our diet. And a steady intake of nutrient rich hemp seeds and hempseed oil could arguably be a more effective method for preventing disease- in the long term- than concentrated treatments of cannabis flower oil.

Herbacious Hemp Seed Products

Whole Cracked Hemp Seeds

The best way to consume hemp seeds is whole- meaning in the shell. Ideally, one would consume living, viable hemp seeds, since living foods are best for our body. However, due to the regulations surrounding viable (plantable) hemp seeds, living hemp seeds can be hard to come by in large and affordable quantities. Our solution is to offer whole cracked hemp seeds, which are not viable but which still contain the beneficial hemp shells, and their associated minerals and fiber.

Since whole cracked hemp seeds are somewhat tougher to consume raw than hulled hemp seeds (see below) many prefer to lightly toast their whole cracked hemp seeds, and add a small amount of salt. When feeding to animals, whole cracked hemp seeds are a perfect choice.

Hemp Cake / Hemp Meal

** Currently the Hemp industry in North America has a problem. If oil-extraction industry is to be economically viable, a market must be found for the residual seed cake, as it is currently, there is a glut of the secondary ingredient, hemp cake. Oil price will either double or companies are forced to not produce just hemp oil.

Hemp Cake is a magical material, and Chanvra Materials is committed to raising awareness of this product and helping it reach new outlets.
